Xianbang Chen is a Postdoctoral Associate at Cornell University.

He earned his B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Sichuan University (China) in 2017 and 2020, respectively. In 2024, he completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology under Professor Lei Wu. His dissertation is entitled Boosting Power System Operation Economics via Closed-Loop Predict-and-Optimize.

His research interests focus on enhancing the economic performance of modern power systems through the integration of optimization and machine learning (e.g., decision-focused learning).
